Goodies!

I got a Nintendo Wii! And it's all mine! (well, okay, and Greg's too I guess) After getting up early launch day (and not getting one because nerds were camped out) and then getting up early a week later when Best Buy got more in (and not getting any because nerds camped out) - I found one! At Wal-Mart on total luck! Awesome!

Now, ask me how it is....

I have no idea! Because we also got Guitar Hero 2 for PS2 and we have been playing it non stop for 3 days. Basically when I've gone home from work this week, I have slept, watched Veronica Mars (which by the way was REALLY good on Tuesday - the twists! the turns! the crazy Logan!), and played Guitar Hero. It's stupid addictive.

So yeah, the game console that took over my thoughts and dreams for a good month is still sitting in the box. Instead now whenever I hear a song on the radio I imagine what color combos I should be playing on the guitar controller.
And in other goodness - we went to karaoke last night and Greg sang Patrick Swayze's "She's Like the Wind." It was beautiful.

Office Space: The Thriller

This totally cracks me up.

Wii-tarded

The Nintendo Wii has taken over my life.

I spend all day looking for any more news/rumors about preorders, lists of how many units should be at local stores launch day, looking at prices on ebay, etc. It's ridiculous. I have never cared about a game console launch in my life, but for some reason I CAN NOT stop thinking about this damn thing.

Goodbye Election Day

And good riddance.
I'm so glad I don't have to watch or listen to anymore damn campaign ads about how one candidate rapes old people and the other doesn't have a penis. Or something.

So now it's time to just deal with what has been handed to us by the people (whether you or I think it's good or bad or both).

Even if it means getting kidnapped by a brown man.

I mean, seriously, what the hell?

I'm bored (so here are some of my opinions)

Mini "Reviews" of some flicks I've seen recently:

High Tension: Really liked the movie - Hated the ending. I've enjoyed both movies I've seen so far by these guys though (they also did The Hills Have Eyes remake) and thought they did good job of building, well, tension. I definitely recommend if you can stomach gore.

The Omen (2006): I was bored.

The Harry Potter Series: I finally got around to seeing all of these movies. I thought the 1st installment was painfully boring, but the following movies were much better. I didn't care much about the story in the Prisoner of Azkaban (3rd movie) but I thought the cinematography was fantastic. Even though I enjoyed them well enough I doubt I'll be seeing any of them in the theatre.

Good Night, and Good Luck.: I really enjoyed this movie, and not just because of George Clooney (who also directed one of my fave movies ever, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind). But he is really pretty.

Metropolis: One of the more random additions to my Netflix queue. (It's a 1927 German Sci-Fi silent film) I think Greg was pretty bored with it. He spent the first half snarking on all of the actors and the 2nd half sleeping. It did drag at times, but I really did enjoy the ending and found the lead actress super enjoyable.

Syriana: It made me feel really stupid.

...other things...

Disappointed: "Running With Scissors" is getting pretty bad reviews, and I've been looking forward to this movie for 2 years. I loved the book, so I may just read it again instead of wasting money to be disappointed at the theatre. (Which is what I should have done with Rent, except of course replace "reading the book" with "listening to the Original Broadway cast CD")

Looking forward to: "8 Films to Die For" Film Festival November 17th-18th. Fun!

And finally,
Addicted: In the past month I've aquired 3 more Buffy ornaments and 3 more action figures. I'm currently bidding on even more on Ebay. Frak.

We also bought Marvel Ultimate Alliance for our Xbox this weekend and Greg was late to work today because of it. Which isn't really my addiction, but it's still damn funny.
