high kicks, low esteem, and mediocre singing

I finally watched all of Season 5 of Alias on DVD a couple nights ago. I sobbed. And then sobbed some more. Greg and I were talking about something or other a few nights ago, and he mentioned that when we went to see Episode III that the nerds were eating up any of bones that George Lucas threw them. Cheering throughout the movie and what not. And as sad as that is, I really think that I'm exactly the same way with Alias this season. I think it helps that it's been a year and a half since I've watched the show, but seriously, I was squeeling with delight for most of the season. Since they found out half way through the season or so that is was going to be the last one, I could tell the writers were trying to wrap up story lines for all the characters ever involved on the show...which was a bit contrived, but also I didn't care because it was AWESOME to see the likes of Sark, Will, Anna Espinoza, and even Francie (in a flashback). I think I literally smiled for 10 minutes the first time Sark showed up. And it didn't hurt that Amy Acker was part of the cast for a good chunk this season. When she shared a scene with Gina Torres, I almost exploded from "Angel" overload. So, good bye Alias. I loved you, I hated you, and I still really wish I had blue hair and high kicks.

American Idol took over my life last year, and last night marked the start of voting rounds. The top 12 boys took the stage and it was a overwelming "meh" fest. It was sooooooo boring. I only liked 3 of the performances, and they weren't even that great they were just different. I was flipping between AI and Veronica Mars for the 2nd hour so I missed a couple of the 2nd half performances, but from what I've read on TWoP it doesn't matter. For the record, I like Blake but that shouldn't be a suprise to anyone who has watched the show and knows me. And I like Chris S., but I read that his snarkiness went over the line to rudeness and cockiness last night, so that's not cool. The only other singer I liked last night was Phil, who started the song off TERRIBLE but managed to bring it together by the end. Anyway, I think that I actually may be able to have a life this year, because so far, I am not impressed at all. I don't think I'll have any problem searching for the guys I like on YouTube and just reading the results online. Hopefully that works out for me.

On the other hand, Veronica Mars was FANTASTIC last night, minus one HUGE thing that happened that I won't get into just incase someone isn't caught up with this season and doesn't want to know the TERRIBLE thing that happened.

I actually do more than watch TV, I swear! I actually went to the gym last night. I tend to go through spurts of working out every day for a week, then doing nothing for a week. It seems to work in that I'm not gaining any more weight, but I'm not losing any either. Doesn't look like I'll be slipping into a bikini when Greg and I head to Orlando in a couple weeks. Ah well, it will still be awesome. I'm so completely excited to heading down there.

On a final note, while I'm happy that someone a little more obsecure is getting solid radio play, I don't want to hear Regina Spektor's "Fidelity" at work anymore. That chorus is the gratiest grate that ever grated.

giggles

One the higher higher ups sent out an email to the region about selling products and getting apps and "let's go team!" and what not. The end of the email said "Good Hunting" and I really want to know if he watches BSG now.

It's fun to change words in songs (the great example I learned from Colleen is changing "love" to "lunch"). Greg and I also like to change "you" to "food", and "hands" (or anything with the same "a" sound) to "yams".
Endless hours of fun.
Currently on the radio...
"Yeah, my girl's in the next room, sometimes I wish she was food."

Distraction

The radio that we listen to at work is doing some Valentines Day promotion thingy and the song the play in the background when they are talking about it is "Sugar Water" by Cibo Matto. Otherwise known as "That song from the episode 'When She Was Bad' on Buffy" So at least twice a day I hear this song, then picture Sarah Michelle Gellar "dancing" all slutty up on Xander.

Distracting.
