Kris Kross is on the radio right now at work.
And I don't think it's on as a joke.

Helloooo mini-vacation

I'm so excited for Thanksgiving! I only have a day and a half of work left before I get to leave for 4 days! Since I've ventured into the "real world" I've always had to work the day after Thanksgiving, but this year I get to stay home and sit and eat and sleep....sigh....
Greg is nervous about meeting everyone, he feels like he needs to be entertaining -- I told him he just needs to be polite. And I told him if he starts feeling awkward he can whisper inappropriate jokes in my ear and I'll laugh at them.

Recently watched:
Unleashed
Urban Legens: Blood Mary
Alias Season 4 Discs 1-4
The Devil's Rejects
The first half of House of 1000 Corpes

VHS tapes bought for $2 at Hollywood Video:
The Running Man
Cruel Intentions 2
George of the Jungle
Adaptation
Hard Target

Guess which ones I wanted and which ones Greg wanted....

Saturday night Greg and I walked to our neighborhood Blockbuster to check out their latest selection of videos and see if anything peaked our interest. Usually if we don’t have something particular in mind, it’s not a very productive trip. He always suggests Ong-Bak: The Tai Warrior, while I’m pointing out Boogeyman. And there are always a couple of trips through the horror section because JUST MAYBE there’s something there that wasn’t there before. Saturday night, as I’m reading the back of the box for some mediocre movie most likely co-starring Selma Blair ( I swear she puts out 40 movies a year), I hear Greg giggling like he does sometimes over in the G section. (It took some self control to not type “G Spot”. You’re welcome). I walk over and join him. And there it is. Gary Busey is “The Gingerdead Man.” Holy cow. He is a crazed killer, who after being electrocuted on death row, comes back to life… as a gingerbread man. And not a Gary Busey sized gingerbread man, a regular sized gingerbread man. It was so bad (not that we expected comedic gold or anything). The tag line as “Evil never tasted so good” So ridiculous. Greg said it should have been called “Gary Busey needs more coke.”

In other news, I’m a Missourian! I’m a registered voter, have my driver’s license and my car as of today is titled and licensed in this state. Wahoo! I feel like I’ve actually moved here now. I considered getting personalized license plates that said BTVS 1. But I refrained myself. Even though I think it would have been pretty funny. And only the cool kids would get it.

Last night my branch had a dinner to celebrate being #1 in the district last quarter (Something, by the way, I had NOTHING to do with since I started at the beginning of this quarter). We went to Tony's, this place downtown (I drove to downtown St. Louis all by myself for the first time - yippee!) that is the only 5 star resteraunt in Missouri. It... was... awesome. The food was amazing. I didn't think that I would like it that much, since I'm such a burgers and fries type of person. I had italian relish thingy, I think sea scallops, a trio of veals, chocolate chocolate torte with vanilla ice cream, and a lot of wine. Hoffman-Simon Piesporter Goldtropfchen to be exact. Now I know of a wine that I love love love. But, yeah, it was really fun. Good food - all fancified and such. I felt a little out of place, because I'm not fancy. I stole a bunch of bobby pins from the bathroom.

So Halloween was kind of a bust. Greg planned on going as “Generic 70s action cop with nunchuck action” and I was going as Alice from Alice in Wonderland. Greg looked hilariously awesome and I looked pretty cute if I do say so myself. We planned on going to Columbia for a haunted house Greg’s friends had opened up. No one else we were going down with dressed up, so neither did me and Greg. It was still fun (and we took the nunchucks with us and played with them in the car) but I was looking forward to dressing up. Oh well….I had fun in the Haunted House. I wouldn’t let go of Greg the whole time, I’m such a dork.

I’m hoping to make a trip back to Des Moines sometime soon. I’ve been kinda down in the dumps lately; I need some Iowans to cheer me up. I miss everyone (especially Amy) insane amounts. …sigh…
