It's been years!

My internet usage was being monitored at my craptastic part time job, so I couldn't post. (We haven't gotten internet hooked up in the apartment yet - it should be ready next Thursday - wahoo!) But today is my last day at this job, so let the surfing commence! I'm not starting the new (fabulous) job until October 10th either - hooray for week long slackage.

Nothing too exciting is going on in these parts. Still happy with the move. Still haven't gotten MO license plates yet - it's the biggest hassle ever. There is a list of like 10 things I need to get them. It's crazy. Frickin Missouri.

I got through Season 1 DVD of Lost. Very impressed. Love the Sci-Fi/Mystery element. LOVE Sawyer. Do not love Jack.

Serenity opens this weekend. GO SUPPORT JOSS WHEDON NOW! I am. :)

Greg and I went back to Fort Madison for the Rodeo this weekend, a first for him. Saturday was a really long day. We didn't get into FM until really late (early) Saturday morning. Then we got up early (for us) to go to the parade - hooray marching bands! - so we were pretty tired and fussy all day. And then Iowa got beat by Iowa State which did not help the fussy mood. But the Rodeo was fun, lots of drinking. I didn't realize how much I had drank until we got home and I almost fell into the bathtub.

Sunday night Greg told me he wanted to show me one of the best comedies ever. I thought he had just put in the tape of Monster Squad we had rented the night before but fell asleep watching. Nope. When the tape started and I saw it was a home video I knew almost immediately what it was. And when I saw a younger version of my boyfriend dressed in all black come out from behind a curtain, donning makeup and looking oh so tough - I knew I was right. He let me watch the tape of his old wrestling matches! It was hilarious. Since he was a "bad guy" he lost all but one of the matches, but it was still really fun to watch. He did some fun flips and crap off of the side of the ring. Occasionally he would pause the tape and give me back story or tell me why the upcoming move he was about do was hard or didn't work or whatever. It was awesome.

I'm so glad those days are behind him though.

I'm here! Wahoo!

The move down was... "smooth?" Greg was the perfect model of patience when dealing with me and my non-strength when we moved the entertainment center. I wish I could have been an outside party watching the debacle. But it did make it down the stairs and into the back of the truck. Not without minor damage on the side I was carrying, but that side is up against the wall, so it's good. We left DSM a couple hours later than we had planned, got into STL around 8:30, unloaded (thankfully this time with the help of his brother Doug) and went straight to meet some of his friends out. We were ready to fall asleep on the tables though, so we didn't stay to long. My sleep is schedule is all sorts of messed up now. I've been living by "Greg time" - getting up around noon, going to be around 2 in the morning. So today, my first day of work, I'm exhausted. I can't wait to go home and go to bed.

The apartment is still pretty messy. The bathroom is done and the kitchen is close to being the done. The living room and closet have exploded. I did get my Buffy action figures set up so that is a step in the right direction. We're hoping to get everything done this weekend. I'm so ready to be settled in and have a schedule and really start feeling like I actually live here!

Highlight of the move thus far: Greg karoking "Sunglasses at Night" while wearing (girls) sunglasses and his collar flipped up. Even though he was mad that we signed him up without him knowing, he put on a great show. Then later that night we serenaded (or screamed at) each other with some classic Billy Idol. Good times.
