GLORIOUS!

I can't even explain the amount of excitement in the Long-McRoberts household after we found out this was online.

Quantity over Quality?

Greg and I headed to our local Slackers this past weekend. They sell used video games, CDs, DVDs, and they take trade ins! So we traded in some of our old video games and the DVDs we both had after combining our collections when we moved in together and managed to earn a little over $90 of credit for the store. Rad! We procured the following:

Almost Famous
Confessions of a Dangerous Mind
Desperado
Final Fantasy III for Super Nintendo
No Doubt: Rock Steady Live DVD
Once Upon a Time in Mexico
Salem's Lot
Seven Samurai
Sid Vicious: Live at Max's Kansas City, NY 1978

If you can guess which ones I picked out and which ones Greg picked out, I'll give you a candy bar. Your choice.

Spread the Word

June 23rd the fans of "Firefly" and "Serenity" are attempting something very silly, but if it actually works could be pretty damn cool. "Serenity" is one of my favorite movies and was able to made in large part to the fan base of "Firefly" (the television show on which it is based) rallying together. The fans of this world Joss created are crazy and have organized a world wide Serenity day. Forty four screens around the world will be showing "Serenity" the weekend of June 23rd. They also ask that we go buy the Serenity DVD that same day.

Who knows if this will prove to any sort of movie exec that this franchise has money-making potential? But if you don't already have a copy, or know someone who doesn't, go get this movie. If it works and they make a sequel or two - I will be really super happy. And even if it doesn't work, you should be really happy because Serenity is fucking awesome and you'll be able to enjoy it over and over again. And Captain Malcolm Reynolds is my hero. In tight pants.

My boyfriend thinks he's so funny.

A couple of weeks ago, he let me know that he bought some movies from Columbia House and he had decided to get one for me. (how sweet!) When they came in the mail he opened it and started laughing. (He couldn't remember what he had gotten me) It was friggin "Raise Your Voice." I can't believe that movie is going to be sitting on my shelf, right next to "From Justin to Kelly" no doubt. I think it's funny we actually watched it that night.

On the good side, Colleen and I can watch this and "High School Musical" whenever I visit her.

The weekend is finally here. The weekend that caused a bad aura of sorts in the Long-MrRoberts household for like 2 whole days almost 6 months ago. This weekend my cousin Matt is getting hitched in Kansas. It is also the weekend of Greg and his brother Doug's huge gigantic don't you dare miss it because it's the biggest party ever pajama jammy jam birthday party. The party has been on the calendar as long as the wedding. Both of us were upset when we found out, but have since gotten over it (Like I said, we found out like 6 months ago) But as the weekend approaches and as I'm packing my things and his brother is talking about the party, I find myself getting a little irked again. Who plans a birthday party 6 months in advance? It's not like you need to rent out space! Whatever - it's not like I can't survive 3 days away from my boyfriend, right? Three days. One of those days being a pajama party which will I'm sure include girls in stupid little sexy nighties. Ugh, I'm so over it.
I am bummed I'm missing his birthday party though. I'm so impatient, I made him open his bday presents last night. Even though his birthday isn't until next week, so I'll be back in time for it. I got him a Mr. T talking key chain, a cool Jaws shirt, a History of Violence DVD, and a subscription to Maxim. Not bad, not bad. I also recently bought tickets for Mindless Self Indulgence - they're playing at Pops in July. I told him that it was part of his bday present, but really it's more for me. I'm so sly!
