Since You've Been Gone

I only have one more week of classes left. Thank goodness! I have one final and one regular test this week, and one final next Monday, then I'm done. I've really enjoyed the calculus class for the most part (there have been a few days I just really want to go home and watch TV instead of learning things) but I ready for a break. (My computer class is one of the worst classes I've ever taken for the simple fact that it's the easiest piece of crap ever. Everything is open book and the questions on the test are taken word-for-word from the book. If you can read, you should be able to get a good grade in the class. And yet some people in my class....jeez. Since I don't have to study for the class, I haven't learned a single thing. It's the biggest waste of time.)

Since Greg is now working 1st shift and I won't be taking any classes this summer, we'll be spending every weeknight together for the first time (on a regular basis) since I've lived here. It's going to be SO WEIRD. I told him since we'll both be home at the same time we should start cooking together. I'm worried we'll just end up being lazy together and ordering pizza.

We've been in our new place for almost 2 months now, and I really love it. It's still not completely put together (there are still boxes here and there) but it's coming together nicely. My favorite thing (no joke) is the laundry room. Not having to go to a laundry mat is GLORIOUS! I'm also loving my girly bathroom (completely with flowery shower curtain and framed James Dean picture), having my own closet, and an extra room to hold all of our nerd stuff - making our bedroom look even bigger. I still leave my shoes in every room causing Greg to curse me at least twice a week. Maybe if he watched where he was going he wouldn't trip over my things.

About a month ago, my division of work went through a "realignment" and I was pretty close to losing my job. Even though it was never explicitally stated by any upper management I firmly believe that it was between me and one other girl on who would be keeping their job. (Most of the ladies in my position have been with the company for centuries - whereas the other girl and I have only been with the company 5 years.) Luckily, I pulled through and part of the realignment included me transferring offices so I'm working closer to home now. I work in two different offices but they are both super close so it only takes me 15-20 minutes to get to one and less than 5 to get to the other. I miss my old office in Des Peres, but so far the move has been good. Working at two offices breaks up the week nicely and you really can't beat working 5 minutes from home. I go home for lunch and watch recorded episodes of "South Park."

Also, I've seen Iron Man twice since it opened last Friday.

Frak yeah!

Finally there is a release date for BSG: Season 3. Thanks gods! I have exactly 17 days to get through all of Season 3 before the premiere episode of Season 4. Totally do-able!

In Not-SciFi-TV-News:
Greg is finally done working 3rd shift! He's been working his permanent 1st shift gig now for a week. He's still getting used to it though, so he's been in bed around 9pm every night. Last night he fell asleep around 7:30pm. Hopefully he'll be adjusted in another week or so.

I started school! I'm taking two classes at the community college (Calculus I and Intro to Data Processing). The computer class is really easy ( I got 100% on the first test Tuesday - rock!) and the Calc class so far isn't too bad. I have a really good teacher, and I find all the stuff interesting so it keeps my attention even toward the end of long day. Yeah - even though Greg is now getting home early - I am not getting home until 9 or 10 Monday-Wednesday due to classes. But having 2 nights a week together is better than none! And we have the weekends to lounge....

Which is exactly what we'll be doing this weekend. Even though Mardi Gras is going on in Soulard this weekend, we will be staying in our warm apartment watching movies. And maybe making out. Who knows.

In other awesome news, we are moving into a new apartment. We love the location of our place now, but we've really outgrown it. We looked at a few different places and had our little hearts broken when our two favorite places had income maximums - and we're just too darn rich to live there. So that was just really disappointing. But, luckily, we found a totally great place that is close to the hwy that we both take to work. It's so much bigger than our current place that we have tons of room to spare. I may try to convince Greg that we need a fort in the living room AT ALL TIMES. We totally have enough room.

And that's really all that's going on with us!

So here's a clip from the Jimmy Kimmel show last night that totally cracks me up!
